Harrigan Wedding
I was reminded at the ceremony that I’ve known Daniel, the groom, for 20 years. Seeing his family and our friends on this weekend felt like every weekend we’ve shared together before. The conversations were similar, the feelings were the same, and yet, everything in our lives is different now. Friendships that endure this long are built on those feelings, and it is undoubtedly true of marriage as well. As Daniel and Mackenzie (and Ringo) embark on this journey together, it is nice to see how caring each of their separate and combined friend groups care for them and have endured over time just as our Middle School group has. Old habits die hard, and although we’ve matured and changed over the years, we still juggle and play Magic and quote YouTube videos all the same. It’s been an honor knowing Daniel this long and that he will forever be “my best friend from High School,” but I am equally proud to know his now wife, Mackenzie, and cannot wait to see what the two of them accomplish together.
